We take responsibility for keeping it secure and available, and update it as needed in order to minimize interruptions to your business.

When your systems send a request to AXON, AXON communicates with the customer, supplier, or affiliate indicated in the request to retrieve the data defined by the Data Channel. AXON returns the data in a normalized format.

All data traveling across AXON is normalized into a consistent structure with well-defined data types according to the Data Channel that the data is sent on. This allows you to standardize your business logic for exchanging data with your customers, suppliers, and affiliates.

When your customer, supplier, or affiliate sends data to you, AXON delivers that data to your designated system(s) in a normalized format as defined by your AXON integration.

Data Security

Data Security

All data that moves across AXON is encrypted and signed using keys unique to each business. Doing so ensures the integrity of the data and validates its origin. The data is also nonced to prevent replay attacks.

Data Channels

Data Channels on AXON are used to exchange data with your customers, suppliers, and affiliates in predictable paths called Data Channels. Each Data Channel has a consistent structure with well-controlled data types. AXON ensures that all data conforms to the Data Channel’s definition.

There are two types of Data Channels on AXON: Common Data Channels and Limited Access Data Channels

  • Common Data Channels are for types of information that are normal in most relationships. They include things like Purchase Orders and Shipment Notifications.
  • Limited Access Data Channels are for information that is unique to a limited set of relationships between businesses using AXON. Examples include affiliates that want to share their customer demand with each other, subsidiaries that need to report quality data to a parent company, and the like.

Purchase Order and Amendment data represents new purchase orders or amendments to existing purchase orders.

Schedule data is the set of demand coming from your customers or going to your suppliers.

Operational Data is the set of stock, WIP, and planned work orders sent to your customers or coming from your suppliers.

Commit is the set of data that contains expected delivery dates and quantities that you send to your customers or receive from your suppliers.

Shipment Notification is the set of data that contains shipments that are in transit to your customer or are in transit from your suppliers.
